The AHSAA North-South All-Star baseball rosters were announced on Tuesday for this summer’s North-South All-Star Sports Week. The 2023 rising seniors were selected by a coaches’ committee from nominations received from AHSAA member school coaches.
Brandon Dean, director of the Alabama High School Athletic Directors & Coaches Association, called the teams “an outstanding group of baseball standouts and coaches from our member schools. We are proud to announce these teams and look forward to watching them in the All-Star competition set for the All-Star Sports Week this summer.”
The AHSADCA, which operates under the auspices of the Alabama High School Athletic Association, also annually hosts North-South all-star games in softball, volleyball, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls basketball, cross country, tennis and golf during the All-Star Week. The annual North-South All-Star football game is now played in Mobile each December following the conclusion of the football season.
The South coaches are Jarrod Cook of Trinity Presbyterian; Patrick Street of Dale County; and retired Trinity coach Ken Whittle, who will be the administrative coach. The South All-Stars won Game 1 in the 2021 North-South Series 7-6, but the second game ended in a 3-3 tie. The North leads the series – that started in 1997 – 23-15-2.Ray Anderson – Lindsay Lane – P
