Austin's Parks and Recreation Department collaborated with Austin Water and the Watershed Protection Department to complete the repairs. The holes were filled with gravel, and a segment of the pipe downstream of the dam, near "Barking Springs," was filled with concrete."We are thrilled to welcome the community back to Barton Springs Pool in time for the weekend," said Interim PARD Director Angela Means.

With Barton Springs reopening, Deep Eddy Pool will resume its normal operating hours on Thursday, opening at 8 a.m. instead of the temporary 6 a.m. start time implemented during the closure. PARD staff will conduct cleanup efforts, including repainting safety signs and performing routine maintenance, before the pool reopens. Some sections of the lawn will remain closed for several weeks to allow new turf to grow.
