The disabled train at the San Bruno station caused BART to shut off the red line between Richmond and Millbrae, according to BART spokesperson Cheryl Stalter. She added that crews at the station fixed the problem. The issue at San Bruno also caused a major delay on the yellow line that runs from Antioch to the San Francisco International Airport.
During the shutdown, BART urged passengers who use the red line from Richmond to board a train on the Berryessa/North San Jose line and transfer at the MacArthur station to a train on the yellow line going to the airport. Trains on the blue and green line also were available to customers who were going no farther than Daly City.
Customers riding from Millbrae were told to board an Antioch-bound train and transfer at 19th Street station to a Richmond-bound train.
