WALNUT CREEK — BART police closed the Walnut Creek BART station early Monday while investigating a suspicious package found in the parking garage, officials said.Trains were not stopping at the station, but Allison said they they were running through it. Passengers were not allowed to enter the station.
Police closed the station “out of an abundance of caution”, Allison said. Police still were investigating at 9 a.m. BART encouraged riders affected by the closure to use the Pleasant Hill or Lafayette stations. The Contra Costa Transit Authority was using busses 9 and 14 to provide transportation between the stations.
