The Aberdeen boss admits his BK Hacken mission starts now after seeing off Stirling Albion in the cup.
Barry Robson praised his battling side for ensuring Aberdeen didn’t sink to Stirling and another embarrassing cup shock.
The Dons were forced to battled all the way by the Binos and survived a late penalty shout to win 2-1 and book their place in the Viaplay Cup semi-finals. Robson knows his side weren’t at their best but has insisted he is still building his new-look side. Robson said: “I know you all get caught up in the emotion but I don’t think Kelle had a save to make after their goal. We had a lot of chances ourselves. It was always going to be a difficult game. This club has had a few dangerous or bad results. I didn’t want that to happen it again. We came here and managed to win. Everyone in here wanted us to lose and rightly so because they wanted a cup upset, but we never let it happen.
The Dons now turn their attention to BK Hacken and next week’s Europa League play-off first-leg in Sweden. Robson stated: “I have five reports on Hacken and I will watch three live games. I have had scouts over in Sweden watching them and getting every detail. “We need to know what they are all about and we will. They are a good side, it will be difficult and let’s go and see what we can do there. Credit to all the Scottish clubs for performing well in Europe this week and hopefully we can do the same. We are trying to build something here and we will prepare well this week.”
