Barr claimed that the FBI violated Trump's “civil liberties” with their Russia probe

No, really., he maintains that the FBI launched its initial investigation in 2016 in “bad faith.” And that’s upsetting to Barr, not just because he’s a giant hack, but because he doesn’t want it—it being an investigation that DOJ inspector generali.e. Barr’s employee, said the FBI had a valid reason to initiate—to happen to any other innocent American. “From a civil liberties standpoint, the greatest danger to our free system is that the incumbent government use the apparatus of the state...both to spy on political opponents but also to use them in a way that could affect the outcome of an election,” Barr said. He added that this was the first time in United States history that “counterintelligence techniques” were used against a presidential campaign, which may have had something to do with the fact that a foreign government was seeking to use said presidential campaign to overthrow democracy.
