Baroka FC chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has explained why they decided against signing former Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United midfielder Lucky Mohomi. The 30-year-old was at Baroka on trial for about two weeks, hoping to secure himself a deal after he left GladAfrica Championship side Venda Football Academy in December. But, after he trained with the side and played in friendly matches, it was decided that the former Free State Stars man would not be signed.
It's understood that Mohomi tried his luck at Marumo Gallants as well before going to Baroka, but was unable to secure a deal with the Limpopo outfit."We did not sign him. He did not impress the technical team. He did not do what we wanted from him, so it was decided by the technical team that we would not sign him. He was with us for two weeks. The call was made by the technical team, not me. There is a boy who came here for two days and the technical team decided to sign him.
