The municipal hall of Pikit, North Cotabato is part of Barangay Fort Pikit, which is one of 22 barangays whose proposed inclusion in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao has been approved by majority of the voters in the town. He noted the creation of a reconciliation committee “would prevent the recurring retaliations from parties involved in the feud and that it can ward off the escalation of conflict in the area.” Senior Minister Abdulraof Macacua was assigned to head the task force, which will be composed of representatives from the local government units in North Cotabato, the 6Infantry Division, Police Regional Office – BARMM and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, among others.
