Paul Barjon is headed back to the PGA Tour after a big weekend in the Korn Ferry Tour Championship. Barjon had a 64-68 and won the tournament by three shots. The victory moved him from No. 45 into the top 30 of the players who earn a spot on the PGA Tour next year. Shad Tuten thought he was going to be one of those players. He looked to finish at No. 30 until it was discovered he took an improper drop on the 15th fairway. He was given a two-shot penalty that knocked him out of the top 30.
NEWBURGH, Ind. — Paul Barjon had a big weekend at the right time, closing with a 4-under 68 on Sunday for a three-shot victory in the Korn Ferry Tour Championship to move him into the top 30 of players who earned PGA Tour cards for 2024.
On an typically emotional day at Victoria National, Shad Tuten and Rafael Campos were on opposite ends. Campos missed a birdie putt on his final hole and was in tears. He was at No. 31 but moved to No. 30 when Tuten was penalized. Video showed Tuten did not try to place it in the same spot, instead moving it slightly to the right to find a place it wouldn’t move.
