New Yorkers are paying homage as the movie “Barbie” hit theaters — and everything in the city is turning pink for the flick.

The iconic doll might hail from Malibu, CA, but scores of New Yorkers are embracing their inner “Barbie,” as the eponymous movie hit theaters this weekend and Gothamites painted the town pink. Battery Park resident Bebby Siseido wore pink every day of the week to pay homage to her favorite childhood toy.
“I was basically the only child until I was 7, so I had a lot of time by myself,” the 28-year-old advertising professional explained. “My parents both worked so Barbies were my best friends.Battery Park resident Bebby Siseido, pictured at the Malibu Barbie Cafe on Fulton Street, wore pink each day on the week leading up to the movie’s release.Stefano Giovannini
“I remember my dad went on a work trip to New York. I was probably around 3. And there was one Barbie that had a watch that I could also wear. It was the cutest thing,” she recalled.
