All the characters have so many problems going on. Kat’s is just a very internal, self-hatred kind of vibe, you know what I mean? Super relatable. It all informs Kat’s journey for me in season two. Different activities, but the same internal struggle. For me, some of the fashion is relatable, just because I was always wearing pretty stuff. Experimentation with fashion and makeup was definitely something I did in high school. Obviously cheaper versions of it, and definitely not as well done as it is onbut definitely that experimentation. I was kind of a loner as a kid when I was in high school. I hung out with a lot of older people.
Early in your career, body positivity became such a buzzword. Do you sense that there is some pushback? There’s that scene this season where Kat is tormented by an imagined mob of women shouting “Love yourself!”
