BARBERS are flouting the UK’s lockdown coronavirus laws by offering secret haircuts, it is reported. Hairdressers are charging double the price for a blackmarket trim as they defy government …

Experts think it is impossible to carry out haircuts without increasing the risk of spreading the virus.

Immunology expert Dr Jenna Macciochi, from the University of Sussex, told the BBC: "If they're seeing quite a few clients, that's interactions with quite a few different people who may also therefore be interacting with other people. "This all gives any person who may already be infected and asymptomatic opportunity to spread the virus quite rapidly and potentially [to] a large number of people."Celebrity hairdresser Nicky Clarke, said: "They're not putting into place anything that could even justify their behaviour.since hairdressers were ordered to close by Boris Johnson in late March.

One insider said there would be "a positive impact on morale if people can get a haircut and feel a bit more normal".CORONAVIRUS CRISIS - STAY IN THE KNOWTo receive The Sun's Coronavirus newsletter in your inbox every tea time,
