A suspect attempting to rob a barber shop on San Antonio's Northwest Side was shot by the male shop owner after being pistol-whipped.
A suspect was shot multiple times after an attempted robbery at a barber shop on the Northwest Side of San Antonio. According to San Antonio police, officers were called to a shooting at the barber shop and upon arrival, they found one male who had been shot multiple times. Police say the suspect entered the shop, displayed a firearm, and demanded wallets and purses from both male and female owners.
The male victim may not have acted fast enough, prompting the suspect to pistol-whip him across the head, causing the victim to fall to the ground. The suspect then turned his attention to the female, and began taking out zip ties. That's when the male victim pulled out his firearm and shot the suspect several times. The suspect was transported to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The male shop owner was also treated by Emergency Medical Services for a laceration to the left side of his head.Officials say at this time, the owners are not facing any charges and had the right to defend themselves with lethal force against the aggravated robbery
