Bekas Senator Dewan Negara Tan Sri Zainal Rampak yang juga bekas Presiden Kongres Kesatuan Sekerja Malaysia meninggal dunia awal pagi tadi pada usia 84 tahun.
Allahyarham yang merupakan anak jati Tanjung Keling, Melaka selamat dikebumikan di Tanah Perkuburan Islam USJ 22, Subang Jaya di Selangor pagi ini. “Dalam ketegasan itu beliau juga seorang yang sangat empati dan bertimbang rasa terhadap pekerja. Malah jika ada isu beliau sentiasa bersedia meluangkan masa bertemu pihak berwajib selain memastikan tindakan sewajarnya dibuat secepat mungkin,“ katanya semasa dihubungi di sini hari ini.
Allahyarham yang bergelar Senator sehingga 2005 merupakan presiden MTUC kedua dilantik sebagai senator selepas S.P.S. Nathan yang dilantik ke Dewan Negara pada 1963.
