Suspended Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Gerald Q. Bantag said he has not received a subpoena from the Department of Justice (DOJ) to answer the two murder complaints filed against him.
Suspended Bureau of Corrections Director General Gerald Q. Bantag said he has not received a subpoena from the Department of Justice to answer the two murder complaints filed against him.The DOJ’s panel of prosecutors tasked to conduct the preliminary investigation on the murder complaints said its process servers went to Bantag’s last known address in Caloocan City.
The panel considered the subpoena on Bantag served unless the Philippine National Police and the National Bureau of Investigation which filed the charges can give it the new address for service of summons. Bantag said he has not gone to his house in Caloocan City because it was far from his office in Bucor.“Bahala na po ‘yung abogado doon. Huwag na po natin problemahin ‘yun ,” he said.
“Pwede naman po kasi sa preliminary investigation, Pwede akong pumunta, pwede ring hindi. Pero pinag-uusapan namin na. Gusto ko kasing pumunta doon. Nagre-rely rin po ako sa mga lawyers kasi hindi naman po kasi ako abogado. Sila kasi ang nakakaalam ng laban na ganyan ,” he said.
