The mysterious artist has a new shop in Croydon.
on Instagram Tuesday that he’s opening a shop in London named Gross Domestic Product to display his original artwork, which will be for sale online starting at £10 The Union Jack stab vest worn by musician Stormzy and a fur rug in the shape of Tony the Tiger are among the artworks for sale.
Banksy said he opened the shop because a greeting card company attempted to “seize legal custody” of his name. He was advised to sell his own branded merchandise to prevent that from happening. The shop itself will not handle the sale of Banksy’s art, and its doors don’t actually open. Instead, it will serve as a showroom, viewed from the outside.
Interested buyers are directed to visit grossdomesticproduct.com. At time of press, the website said it was “opening soon.”the auction block Thursday in London. It’s expected to go for up to £2 million .“We hope to offer something for everyone, prices start from £10 but availability will be limited—all of the products are handmade in the UK using existing or recycled materials wherever possible. Including the ideas," Banksy wrote in a sign posted in the shop window.
