Twenty years after the devastating Indian Ocean tsunami, Banda Aceh in Indonesia is rebuilding and remembering. Qurrata Ayuni, a 28-year-old survivor, operates a cafe she built on the site of her parents' home, destroyed by the 2004 disaster. From street performers to dance commemorations, the city is honoring the lives lost while looking towards a brighter future. Students participate in earthquake drills, a stark reminder of the vulnerability to natural disasters.
The city also features a Tsunami Museum, dedicated to preserving the memory of the tragedy and educating future generations
