The 'Banana Ball' craze that has taken social media by storm has arrived in Cleveland as the Savannah Bananas play in front of a sold out crowd at Progressive Field on Saturday night.
CLEVELAND, Ohio - The social media sensation, ‘ Savannah Bananas ’ have arrived in Cleveland and already have the town going bananas!
“I don’t think we ever could’ve imagined this,” Savannah Bananas’ Owner Jesse Cole said. “When we first started we had a simple goal to make baseball fun and it started taking off. We realized, what if we created our own game called ‘Banana Ball,’ and we tried a one city world tour in 2021 and it really took off, and a few years later we’re here selling out major league stadiums.”
On Friday the Bananas players and staff were at Progressive Field for hours, perfecting choreography, music, camera angles and scrimmaging, just to make sure they’re ready for when the lights come on tomorrow night.
