Academy Badminton Malaysia executive chief director Michelle Chai admitted that women team's 3-0 defeat to the Philippines in the quarter-finals of the SEA Games in Phnom Penh, Cambodia was a big shock.
"It's not acceptable," said Michelle in a press conference at the ABM in Bukit Kiara, in the presence of Badminton Association of Malaysia high performance director Dr Tim Jones and the national coaching singles and doubles directors - Wong Choong Hann and Rexy Mainaky. "I take full responsibility and accountability. I share the pain, understand the anger and the disappointment of the fans, and those who are not fans."The question then, that all four of us need to ask ourselves...are we good enough?
"We cannot hide behind the reason that the players are young. That reason, we can use if they face China or other top countries.
