Ballet San Antonio’s never-before-seen production offers a fresh twist on the 21st century classic. In true world premiere fashion, every element — from the music and choreography to the sets and costumes — is an original creation by the ballet company. Supported by an incredible team of artists, Ballet San Antonio aims to bring J.M. Barrie’s beloved tale to life, creating an unforgettable experience for audiences of all ages to enjoy.

Send The Kids To The Ballet is not the only community program Ballet San Antonio offers. In 2012, Ballet San Antonio and Boys and Girls Clubs of San Antonio partnered to launch Learning That Moves You, an innovative arts education program that offers dance and creative movement for underserved children ages 6-12. Last year, the ballet company expanded this program to summer camps, bringing the joy of ballet to even more young dreamers.

Research shows that the arts play a key role in childhood development. According to the National Endowment for the Arts, studies show positive associations between the arts and emotional regulation, a critical skill for well-adjusted children and adults. With their invitation to exploration, interaction and creative expression, the arts also have a powerful ability to boost children’s self-esteem.

By increasing access to the arts, Ballet San Antonio hopes to demonstrate to local students that they live in a world full of limitless possibilities, just as Peter Pan showed Wendy, John and Michael along their journey to Neverland.
