Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT During the 2024 Game Developers Conference, developer Larian officially announced that it won't be developing any DLC, expansions, or sequels to Baldur's Gate 3, as reported by IGN.
Despite previous talk of the possibility of DLC, nothing was ever confirmed or denied until this official announcement. Larian's next game could be part of its original IP, the Divinity Series. The studio previously announced it was working on a tactical game set in the Divinity universe. However, Vincke appears to have since changed his mind: in January 2024, he announced he had figured out the first act of a mystery project in a thread on X.
This news is doubtless disappointing to fans of Baldur's Gate 3, but Larian isn't done with the base game. It's clear that there are still patches and updates to come. If past trends continue, future patches could be just as significant in their game-changing potential. If anything, it may be a positive thing that Larian has declined to release these changes as paid DLC.
