Bald eagles are booming in the New York City area, especially New Jersey, where they are back in all their majestic glory.

The U.S. government took bald eagles off the endangered species list back in 2007. Conservationists are crediting the government with aggressive actions that ultimately made it possible.

"So we have DDT that was taken out of the environment back in 1972," Torino said. "We had the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act passed.
