The art pieces will be hidden in parks, on trails and beaches, and other public lands across Kitsap County.

ByTo celebrate its 10th anniversary, the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art is holding a treasure hunt across Kitsap County beginning Saturday.

The event is called “BIMA’S Treasure Trek: A Glass Float Seek & Keep.” The museum has hidden 200 unique glass balls across Kitsap County, made by glassblowers with the Tacoma youth development arts nonprofit Hilltop Artists. The balls, or “floats,” are inspired by glass fishing net floats used by Japanese fishermen, the museum said. The art pieces will be hidden in parks, on trails and beaches, and on other public lands across the county.

According to the museum — “The rules are simple: you find it, you keep it — however, we ask that you just keep one so more people can enjoy the hunt.”
