Bad Bunny embraced the MetGala's Gilded Age theme in his own distinct way.
—certainly didn’t disappoint with his fashion choices for the evening. In a custom look designed by Burberry’s Riccardo Tisci, the Puerto Rican rapper embraced the Gilded Age theme in his own distinct way. And just moments before he hit the step and repeat, got all the details about the backstory behind his unique outfit in a brand new video, as well as followed along with the star as he got ready for fashion’s biggest night.
The custom ensemble resulted in a classic blue collared shirt and black tie, worn underneath a tan puff-sleeve jacket and skirt—which attached to create the illusion of a one-piece. “We’ve done the skirt a million times, but the dress is a new thing for us, which was cool,” says Storm Pablo, Bunny’s stylist. Gold jewelry and hair pieces by the jeweler Soulle, and tan and white brogue shoes were slick, too.
After getting dressed in his hotel room and popping a champagne bottle to celebrate—which had his name on it, bedazzled in crystals!—it was then time to for Bunny to head out the door and make his way to the Met steps, where he was swarmed with screaming fans and paparazzi along the way. “I don’t know why, but I want to change my outfit,” Bunny joked in the car while en route. Luckily, he didn’t.
