Despite an early exit in the Olympics, women's boxer Hergie Bacyadan said she is grateful for her experience in Paris.'It's sad to think about losing, but I am still very grateful because I made it to the Olympics. Just having the experience of playing here is a big deal for me,' Bacyadan wrote on Instagram in Filipino on Wednesday, moments after her first match.
When I first faced a Chinese boxer in the US, I told myself, 'I'll also compete them against the Olympics,' so it's a proud moment to compete against a top seed and a two-time medalist,' she said.Bacyadan also thanked Philippine Olympic Committee chief Abraham Tolentino as well as coaches Gerson De Asis Nietes, Ronald Chavez, Reynaldo Galido, Mitchel Martinez and Don Abnet.
