The Bacolod City Council approved an appropriation ordinance amounting to P29.750 million for the gratuity pay of Contract of Service and Job Order workers in the city on Monday, December 23. Acting Mayor El Cid Familiaran announced that COS and JO workers will receive their gratuity pay on Friday, December 27. This gratuity pay is in accordance with Administrative Order No. 28, dated December 19, 2024. Earlier, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
approved an increase in gratuity pay for COS and JO workers in the government, raising the amount to P7,000. According to the four-page AO No. 28, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, COS and JO employees who have rendered at least four months of satisfactory service as of December 15 are entitled to gratuity pay ranging from P5,000 to P7,000. For regular employees, Familiaran confirmed that they have already received the P5,000 Performance Enhancement Incentive .
