A Lewisville restaurant faces a crash and burglary within two weeks, causing damage and closures as owners work to recover and seek community help.

A Lewisville restaurant owner says a crash followed by a break-in caused damage and forced a temporary closure. Police say keys and debit cards were also taken as the investigation continues. The owners are now adding security measures while relying on customer support to recover.

NBC 5’s Candace Sweat has more. A North Texas couple says they are trying to move forward after two incidents damaged their Lewisville restaurant within two weeks. Blain Bastow, co-owner of Quickie Crabs on East Round Grove Road, said he and his wife have faced a crash and a burglary in quick succession but remain focused on keeping the business open.“The past couple of weeks have been pretty rough. We had one lady kind of drive through the front of the restaurant,” Bastow said.“That was pretty shocking. I was sitting right there in the dining room, my wife was behind the counter, and we had a couple of customers in there,” Bastow said. Bastow said the crash appeared to be an accident, and no injuries were reported. The restaurant closed for several days.“We had a break-in. So, after hours, at about 1:30 a.m., two guys pried the door open and broke in,” he said.“They didn’t get much, but they did some damage to the door, the back door and pretty much ransacked everything,” Bastow said. Lewisville police said keys and debit cards belonging to the business were also taken from a back office.“We love this place,” said customer Christopher Henderson. “It’s bad luck, you know, like a turn of events back-to-back, it's bad. But I know that they’ll have a lot of support.”“We installed an alarm system yesterday,” he said. “We just never thought to install one because we just knew we were never going to keep anything on site, but now, for security or safety reasons, we’re going to put one on site and keep it armed.”
