The 'Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' star was set to appear on 'The Bachelorette' this season, but it was canceled after domestic violence allegations.

INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 03: Clayton Echard attends iHeartRadio 102.7 KIIS FM's Jingle Ball 2021 presented by Capital One at The Forum on December 03, 2021 in Los Angeles, California.

As an alumnus of the long-running “Bachelor” franchise and one of its more controversial leads, Clayton Echard has some thoughts on the recent drama with Taylor Franke Paul and her canceled “Bachelorette” season. THE BACHELOR - The Bachelor: Women Tell All Get ready for a night of drama, laughter and maybe even a few tears when Claytons former flames reunite for the first time.

Seventeen women will come together to hash out their differences, clear up any misunderstandings and apologize for bad behavior; but will it all be taken in stride, or will some ladies be hung out to dry? Later, the pressure is on when the Bachelor himself, Clayton, steps into the hot seatthese women arent holding back! Plus, a few special surprises and everyones favoritebloopers!

Buckle up, because its all about to go down when a special two-night Bachelor event begins with The Bachelor: Women Tell All, MONDAY, MARCH 7 , on ABC. CLAYTON ECHARDbefore it even aired after video surfaced of her and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, in a domestic violence incident from 2023.

ABC's parent company, told PauseRewind in a statement, “In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of 'The Bachelorette' at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family. ” Rumors have swirled about whether or not the season will see the light of day, but in Echard’s opinion, it should stay shelved.

“Absolutely not. They should not air it,” he told PauseRewind’s Elizabeth Stanton.

“The litmus test for that is, in this scenario, not to make it about men and women, but it's like, reverse the roles. There's no way in hell they would ever air an abusive man's ‘Bachelor’ season. We should be carrying the same energy towards her. ” He continued, “I've been seeing her post on social media, and she's not being accountable at all.

She's playing the victim. She's claiming reactive abuse, which abuse is abuse. ” The incident with Paul shown in the video from 2023 involved her appearing to attack Mortensen and throw a chair with a child present in the room. Paul pled guilty to aggravated assault under a plea deal that would reduce the charge to a misdemeanor in three years if she abided by the agreement.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - MAY 09: Taylor Frankie Paul attends the Los Angeles Premiere and FYC Event of Hulu's "The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives" Season 2 at Paramount Studios on May 09, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. Paul and Mortensen were also involved in another incident earlier this year, which temporarily halted the filming of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

” The Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office announced in April that“I want her to get help, but I do see on her social media, she's got all this support. And I think it's wrong. It's sad for me to see so much support for her,” Echard said.

“People need to hold her accountable and right now, if you went on her page, you’d see thousands of support comments, hundreds of thousands of likes on her posts. She's getting more engagement than she's ever had. So where's the accountability? Why would she feel she needs to be held accountable.

Right now, the internet's telling her that, ‘You did nothing wrong,’ and that's couldn't be further from the truth based on the facts that are presented. ” He added, “I think Taylor has done some bad things.

I don't want to say she's a bad person, but I don't think she's an accountable person, and I think she's definitely in the wrong, but I think you're seeing a lot of people come to her aid that also, have done bad things in the past and are trying to justify the behavior. ”

Echard, who dealt with backlash from his season of “The Bachelor” after he felt he received an edit that didn’t put him in the best light, would not be shocked if Paul’s “Bachelorette” season ended up on the air somehow.

“If it does, would I be surprised? No, because I know at the end of the day, they want to make their money, and they're out millions of dollars by not airing it. And money trumps all,” he said.

“But I do feel strongly about it. I want her to get help, but it's just sad to see that there's so much support for somebody that's on the record abusive. ”Former President Barack Obama met with U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico and Democratic gubernatorial nominee Gina Hinojosa over tacos in Austin on Tuesday.
