A woman told Fort Worth police officers a man jumped into her car and drove off with her 6-month old baby in the vehicle.

About five minutes later, officers located the infant in a car seat in a nearby ravine, police said.

In body camera footage released by police, two officers can be seen using flashlights to approach the infant near a wooded area past a guard rail. One officer yells “Got it!” before picking up the baby from the car seat. The officer comforts the infant by repeatedly saying “It’s OK,” as the baby cries.

The infant did not appear to be injured and was reunited with a parent, authorities said. Police did not release the child’s name.Police said Reyes faces charges of kidnapping, abandoning or endangering a child and auto theft. He was booked into Tarrant County jail Monday, with bail set at $68,000. His attorney could not immediately be reached for comment.Reyes pleaded guilty to burglary in May 2021 stemming from a 2020 offense in Euless.
