The product's nutrition doesn't meet FDA requirements, and at least one infant was diagnosed with anemia.

Baby formula pulled from store shelves last month was on Tuesday categorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a Class 1 recall, the agency's most severe level of concern pertaining to product removal. The FDA this year has issued more than 500 Class 1 recalls.

Officials worried that insufficient nutrition could cause iron deficiency anemia and feeding intolerance in infants. At the time of the release, there was at least one report of an infant being diagnosed with anemia after using the product. It is unclear if any other diagnoses have occurred since the recall. Newsweek reached out to Healthwest Minerals via email for comment on Wednesday.'The firm does not recommend using this product for infants from 0-12 months of age,' the FDA said.
