An 11-month-old baby died after being accidentally shot in the head by a toddler inside a parked car in San Antonio on Monday, police said. The deadly shooting occurred in a parking lot outside the Audie L. Murphy Memorial VA Hospital, according to NBC News affiliate WOAI. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said in a press conference on Monday that three children — ages three, two, and an 11-month-old — were in the car with a woman.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner identified the baby as Khamari Khols Lang, according to online records. 'What we have here today is a terrible, terrible tragedy,' McManus said. Lang's aunt, Kheena-Marie Hutton, created an online fundraiser to support his family. It has raised over half of its $5,000 goal as of Friday afternoon. 'Khamari was just 11 months old, the youngest of six siblings,' Hutton wrote on the fundraising page.
