San Diego State AD John David Wicker removes 'acting' tag and makes hiring official two weeks after former coach Mark Martinez's retirement was announced
San Diego State’s search for a new baseball coach came to a rapid conclusion, the search ending right where it began, when the school announced Tuesday that pitching coach Shaun Cole has been elevated to head coach.
Shaun Cole, left, was Arizona’s pitching coach when the Wildcats won the College World Series in 2012. In the statement, SDSU Athletic Director John David Wicker called Cole “one of the brightest minds in college baseball.”
