Red-faced council chiefs are to tweak some of Ayr's anti-terror bollards following a huge public backlash.
But the equipment, employed in cities like London and Edinburgh to stop vehicles from ploughing into large gatherings, has been the subject of criticism after councillors admitted they had no clue the barriers were coming. Pavement mounted traffic bollards on Pavilion Road, Bath Place and at the Blackburn Drive end of the Esplanade will be reduced in a bid to improve pedestrian access.
