Marvel reveals that Avengers: Armageddon #4, releasing September 16, will introduce an entirely new core hero who will spearhead the upcoming radical relaunch of the Avengers comic series. This debut marks the first step in a major transformation for the franchise, as the team becomes 'Earth's Mightiest Survivors' following a catastrophic event.

The Avengers are undergoing a significant transformation, marking a new era for Earth's Mightiest Heroes that arrives sooner than many fans anticipated. Marvel has announced that the pivotal moment will occur on September 16 with the release of Avengers: Armageddon #4, which will debut an entirely new core hero.

The Avengers franchise, born from a 1963 collaboration between Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, has continually evolved, from its comic book origins to its monumental Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in 2012. The current comic event, Avengers: Armageddon, sets the stage for a November relaunch of the Avengers series (Volume 10) featuring a radical new roster that includes Luke Cage, Captain Marvel, Daredevil, Wolverine, and Spider-Man, who have been dubbed 'Earth's Mightiest Survivors.

' This nickname strongly suggests that major casualties, such as Captain America and Iron Man, may occur during the event, while Thor remains absent from mortal memory. The new hero, whose identity remains a secret, is expected to emerge from the conflict in Symkaria as Red Hulk, under the banner of New America (formerly Latveria), attempts a takeover.

Speculation about the character's origin points toward the mysterious 'Origin Boxes'-devices that grant powers from alternate realities, as seen with David Colton using Sentry-class abilities. Another compelling theory posits that the United Nations, which has resisted Avengers involvement in the Symkaria conflict, may field its own superhuman enforcer who could then join the new team, aligning the Avengers with global authorities after the loss of the previous generation.

Issue #4 will serve as the first building block of this new era, with writer Chip Zdarsky's event storytelling promising a dramatic shift that will shape the franchise for years to come. The debut is highly anticipated and is set to redefine the Avengers for the modern comic landscape
