New concept art for Avatar: Fire and Ash reveals a massive battle between the RDA and Pandoran forces across land and sea.
New concept art for Avatar : Fire and Ash has been released, offering a glimpse of an epic battle that will take place across the air and sea. The artwork, shared by Empire Magazine, depicts the RDA ’s Factory Ship, a massive structure described by production designer Ben Procter as “essentially a moving oil platform designed to capture and process the tulkun on an industrial scale,” traversing the water while surrounded by aircraft.
Procter teased this scene, stating, “We’re going to see an airborne and water-borne battle for the ages, as the Pandoran forces and RDA clash in a really interesting environment.” He further claimed that this sequence surpasses even the epic final battle of Avatar: The Way of Water, describing it as making the previous confrontation look “like nothing but a skirmish.” Avatar: Fire and Ash, directed once again by James Cameron, who co-wrote the screenplay with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, boasts an impressive ensemble cast. Returning stars include Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, and Joel David Moore, alongside newcomers Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Jack Champion, Bailey Bass, Edie Falco, and more. Cameron has previously hinted at the sequel exploring new facets of the Na’vi, particularly those representing the “Ash People,” who embody fire. He aims to showcase a different side of the Na’vi, having primarily presented their positive attributes in previous films. He also stated that the upcoming sequels will delve into new worlds while continuing the established narrative of the main characters, culminating in what he believes will be the best installments of the franchise.
