Quaritch in his Na'vi form holding a knife while a fire rages behind him in Avatar The Way of Water

Summary A new piece of fan art imagines what the Fire Na'vi tribe will look like for the upcoming Avatar: Fire and Ash. The James Cameron-directed third installment in the Avatar franchise will introduce the "Ash People" of Pandora, thus furthering the series' world-building. The previous film, 2022's Avatar: The Way of Water, moved the story away from the forest and introduced the Metkayina tribe, who have developed a bond with water and the sea.

With the caption "All I see is red," a fictional Na'vi, who is a part of the Ash People, looks at the audience while fire rages in the background. The image mimics the original Avatar poster, which featured half of Neytiri's face in extreme close-up. The leader of Avatar's Ash People clan is named Varang, and will be portrayed by Game of Thrones' Oona Chaplin. Not much is known about them, but they will be the central part of the movie's story. It is heavily rumored that they will be the antagonists and could even oppose the Metkayina tribe, but Cameron has revealed few details. Nevertheless, the title Fire and Ash gives the impression of destruction and explosive conflict, and the Ash People could very well be the cause of that.
