AvatarTheWayOfWater star Edie Falco filmed her scenes over four years ago and assumed the sequel had already been released... and flopped. 😳😂
Avatar: The Way of Water star Edie Falco completely forgot about the movie. The long-awaited sequel to the highest-grossing movie of all time, Avatar: The Way of Water features the return of Jake Sully and Neytiri while introducing several new characters to the franchise. One of the standout supporting stars is Falco, who plays General Frances Ardmore, a new military commander on Pandora.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Because she shot her scenes for Avatar: The Way of Water four years ago, Falco completely forgot about the sequel, as the actor hilariously recounted during a recent appearance on The View. In fact, so much time had passed that she assumed the movie had already been released and flopped. Read what she shared below:
I saw the first one when it was out. The second Avatar I shot four years ago. I’ve been busy and doing stuff. Somebody mentioned Avatar and I thought, "Oh, I guess it came out and it didn’t do very well because I didn’t hear anything about it." It happens! Someone recently said, "Avatar” is coming out," and I said, "Oh, it hasn’t come out yet?" I will never work again because I said that... I wanted to be blue! I was excited I’d be blue and very tall.
It's understandable that Falco forgot about Avatar: The Way of Water considering she filmed her scenes over four years ago and, since then, has been busy with various other film and television projects. One of her most recent performances was as Hillary Clinton in American Crime Story season 3. Since Cameron shot Avatar: The Way of Water and Avatar 3 back-to-back, it's already known that Falco will be returning as General Ardmore in the threequel.
Though Falco's screentime in Avatar: The Way of Water ends up being quite limited, General Ardmore's introduction is likely setting the stage for the character to become one of the franchise's main antagonists alongside Colonel Miles Quaritch. Similar to Stephen Lang's character, Ardmore could actually become a Na'vi in the future by way of the RDA's Recombinant program, which would fulfill Falco's wish.
