Investigators released suspect information Saturday on the shooting that happened on the 500 block of 5th Avenue. They say they've issued a warrant for 26-year-old Jaquez Hoover . The Columbus City Attorney claims the bar is a problem spot and wants it shut down.
"A place like Avalon, where violence was present where people lost their lives, where people were injured and nearly 80 runs for service in the most recent time frame," City Attorney Zach Klein said.Since last year, officers have been called out to the club numerous times for everything from assaults to gunfire.
"There are nonlicensed security guards, that is required under the consent order. There is no special duty under it, but there has been mass carnage violence where people were injured and killed," Klein said.Hoover. is the accused gunman, and he's being charged with two counts of murder. According to court documents, Hoover allegedly walked up to the bar and started shooting, killing two people.Claiming the owners are not complying with court orders.Hoover is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him do not approach him, call 911.
