From chunky Chelsea boots to stiletto evening styles
this week. Every year when September rolls around, there's a distinctive back-to-school pleasure in perusing the autumn/winter staples.
The thing is, you can technically wear ankle boots all year round, or at least for 10 months of the year. The British weather is temperamental, after all. But if you've spent the summer in flip flops and sandals, there's nothing quite like slipping back into a closed toe shoe – especially when it means you can finally skip the pedicure.
For 2022, the trends from last year are still going strong: Chelsea and cowboy designs are here to stay, as are chunkyand lace-up styles. The new features on the block fashion editors are loving? Equestrian buckles, sock-like fits and flared heels, as well as anything with a square toe. We suggest you invest in two pairs: a delicate design to swap your stilettos for in the evening and a chunky flat to stomp around in during the day.
