Automakers are adding futuristic features to cars faster than safety regulators can keep up. Despite the implementation of Automatic Emergency Braking systems (AEBs), many vehicles are still unable to avoid certain crashes, as demonstrated by a recent incident in Texas.

Automatic Emergency Braking systems or AEBs, touted as a stop-gap measure to prevent a crash. This spring, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration took a first step at requiring AEBs in all cars.
