Police are searching an Encino home as part of a human and exotic animal trafficking investigation, authorities said.

Authorities have seized a spider monkey and serval cat from two homes this morning. Pictured above, a spider monkey at the Los Angeles Zoo.

Authorities could not immediately confirm that they arrested or cited anyone in connection with the searches, said Patrick Foy, a spokesman for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.Investigators began searching the homes on the 4000 block of Grimes Place in Encino and the 22000 block of Summit Ridge Circle in Chatsworth at about 8 a.m., Foy said. Shortly before noon, authorities walked out of the Encino home with the wild cat and seized the spider monkey from the Chatsworth home.

Foy would not confirm that the producer had been arrested or even that the Encino home belonged to him. It was unclear who lives in the other home.
