Authorities found more than 90,000 pounds of processed marijuana at the site
Investigators discovered more than 90,000 pounds of processed marijuana in trash bags that filled a newly built metal structure on a five-acre property in Oak Hills. Authorities announced the seizure of more than $100 million worth of processed marijuana from a property in Oak Hills, a community in San Bernardino County, on Monday, Dec. 9.
Sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant around 7 a.m. on a five-acre property in the 5000 block of Honeyhill Road in Oak Hills, which is west of Hesperia, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Inside a newly built metal building along the property’s east side fence, investigators found more than 3,000 trash bags filled with processed marijuana and stacked over 12 feet high, filling the 120 foot by 40 foot building, a Sheriff’s Department statement said.Second suspect indicted in deadly California fentanyl poisoning case
The Sheriff’s Department, San Bernardino County Code Enforcement and California Department of Fish and Wildlife officials seized 51 truck loads of processed marijuana over two days, totaling more than 90,000 pounds. In all, the marijuana had a market value of around $100 million, the Sheriff’s Department said.that law enforcement was working to curb a “plague” of black market marijuana sales in the area.
All cannabis businesses are prohibited in unincorporated parts of San Bernardino County like Oak Hills, according to the state Department of Cannabis Control.
