Law enforcement in Florida released body camera footage of a party at which officers said they were punched and struck. The release came after a local newspaper quoted partygoers saying authorities had unfairly targeted black attendees.
The bodycam video shows officers telling attendees to get out of the road and move their cars. At another point, an officer can be seen detaining a man alleged to have thrown a gun before running from authorities."This is what they do to black people," a partygoer told The West Volusia Beacon."It's not fair."
Chitwood said seven people were arrested. Two men face charges of possession of a weapon and ammunition by a convicted felon, tampering with evidence, resisting arrest and other counts. The Volusia County Sheriff's Office said someone in a car pointed a rifle or a shotgun at officers. A man who had been at the party was later admitted to a hospital after being shot in the foot.
