The victim was pronounced dead at Jersey Shore University Medical Center shortly after midnight.
Detectives are investigating a shooting that left a man dead on the Jersey Shore last week, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago said.
Police arrived at the crime scene about 11:45 p.m. on August 9 on Atkins Avenue between Adams Street and Boston Way in Asbury Park. Officers located Derek L. Bussey, 27, of Asbury Park, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, officials said. Bussey was pronounced dead at Jersey Shore University Medical Center shortly after midnight, authorities said.
Officials have not announced any arrests in the case. The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office is asking anyone with tips to call Detective Aaron Shaw at 800-533-7443.
