Adrian Edward Guevara died at 1:14 p.m. Sunday after being shot at the court near the 1100 block of Riney Road, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office and Denton police. Officer responded to the court around 12:10 p.
m. after receiving multiple calls about a man who appeared intoxicated. Police found the man, identified as Edward Guevara, on the north side of the court. Police said Edward Guevara climbed a fence while holding a metal pipe and threatened officers, telling them they were “going to have to kill him.”Officers attempted to verbally deescalate the situation before Edward Guevara climbed down and charged at officers with the rod, police said. Officers used a stun gun on Edward Guevara, but police said it was ineffective. Edward Guevara was then shot multiple times by an officer, police said.Edward Guevara was medically treated at the scene, police said.
