The office of the Cuyahoga County medical examiner identifies Pedro Nettles, 33, as the man who died after a Wednesday night shooting that also left a woman injured in Maple Heights.

Pedro Nettles, 33, of Cleveland was shot Wednesday night on Libby Road and later died from his injuries. Pedro Nettles was identified as the victim fatally shot in the home invasion, according to a report from the office of the Cuyahoga County medical examiner.

The office released Nettles’ identity on Thursday.Police responded to the residence about 9:45 p.m. after receiving a report that a woman had been shot in the hand. Officers found both Nettles and the woman at the scene with gunshot wounds, authorities said. Paramedics took the woman to MetroHealth Medical Center and Nettles to South Pointe Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. On the night of the shooting, a woman called police and said three men wearing all black shot up her home and ran, according to a dispatch report released by Maple Heights police. The woman told officers that Nettles was down in the front yard, and she did not know if he was breathing, the dispatch report read. Authorities believe one of the suspects was shot in the leg during the attack. Officers issued an alert for area hospitals to report any gunshot wound victims. Other law enforcement agencies, including Bedford, Solon and North Randall, assisted in the search for the suspects. As of Friday, authorities had not confirmed whether any arrests had been made in the shooting. It remains unknown if any suspects have been identified. If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.and agree that your clicks, interactions, and personal information may be collected, recorded, and/or stored by us and social media and other third-party partners in accordance with our
