Firefighters from Aurora, Maine, responded to a fire Monday in Great Pond and discovered two bodies
The two people found dead after a fire Monday morning in Great Pond, Maine, have been identified.
The state's Department of Public Safety said firefighters from nearby Aurora responded to the blaze on Old Dam Way around 5 a.m. The bodies of a man and a woman were found. The Aurora Fire Department determined a fatal fire had occurred and reported it to the fire marshal's office, authorities said. The State Fire Marshal's Office and state police are continuing to investigate the deaths, the Department of Public Safety said. Autopsies were completed by the chief medical examiner's office earlier this week, and the victims were identified Thursday as 35-year-old Marie Robbins, who lived in the residence, and 38-year-old Ryan Devisme, of Aurora.The investigation is still ongoing and pending further testing by the medical examiner, but the deaths are considered suspicious.
