Authorities gave the all-clear after a bomb threat prompted emergency response at Methodist Hospital Hill Country in Fredericksburg Thursday morning. Hospital staff called 911 around 7:50 a.m., according to Fredericksburg Fire/EMS.
Fredericksburg Fire/EMS and the Fredericksburg Police Department responded to the scene.The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives bomb squad was called to conduct a full sweep of the facility. Law enforcement actively searched the hospital as a precaution. By 11:35 a.m., the ATF bomb squad had fully cleared the building and Methodist Hospital Hill Country declared an all-clear. The hospital resumed normal operations. Authorities had secured a perimeter around the hospital and asked the public to avoid the area during the incident. Fredericksburg Independent School District officials said they were monitoring the situation but that no threat to any district campus had been identified.
