We chat with TheSchoolForGoodAndEvil author SomanChainani about the process of adapting his best-selling novel into a netflix film:
As of Wednesday, October 19, The School for Good and Evil has been made available to stream on Netflix. Directed by Paul Feig, this film tells the story of two outcasts who take solace in their friendship with each other. In a turn of events, the girls find themselves on different sides when Agatha is dropped off at the School for Good, and Sophie is taken to the School for Evil.
Soman Chainani: You don't really believe it until it's actually on the screen because you're so used to the fact that you're writing it so it exists in people's imaginations. That to me is the movie screen, right? It's everybody's imagination.
Was there a scene that you felt was especially important to be included in the movie? One where you said, "I would like this not to change"?
