Dark has performed across opera, music theatre, cabaret and on the concert stage, appeared in the TV show, and was a guest panellist on the ABC's music quiz showThe singer performed around Australia and internationally, including with Opera Australia, Victorian Opera, Pinchgut Opera, and Opera Hong Kong, as well as with many of Australia's leading orchestras and choirs.
Tributes from the Australian music community have started appearing through social media. "Her irrepressible humour and life and energy and musicality made her one of the greatest of Australian mezzos," said Erin Helyard, Artistic Director of Pinchgut Opera."Jacqui's magnificent voice and magnetic stage presence entrenched her place in Australia's musical history; her indefatigably upbeat personality will be long remembered.
